Unsatisfied with the proposed redistricting map that was released last month by the Legislative Reapportionment Commission, Pennsylvania House State Government Committee Chairman Seth Grove (R-York) wrote a letter to Commission Chairman Mark Nordenberg, urging him to follow what Grove calls ” the most transparent congressional redistricting process in Pennsylvania history, which was led by the House State Government Committee.”
In the letter, Grove suggests that Nordenberg should “hold a hearing to allow [map maker] Dr. Cervas to testify on his map decisions and allow members of the Commission, including yourself to vet these decisions in public.”
Republicans currently hold a 113-90 advantage over Democrats in the Pennsylvania House. SpotlightPA.org reported that “Adam Podowitz-Thomas, a senior legal analyst for the nonpartisan Princeton Gerrymandering Project, said the new map creates about 102 districts that lean Democratic.”
