Snow began falling in Philadelphia during the early morning hours on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. The snowfall expanded across the region throughout the morning, with heavy snow continuing into the afternoon and evening hours. By midday, when this photo was taken, the city was well on its way to having an accumulation of more than a foot of snow.
Market East Station opened on November 10, 1984, and was renamed Jefferson Station on September 4, 2014.
