Sam Brown, a former Lower Merion High School All-Central League Guard, will transfer from the University of Pennsylvania to Davidson College this fall. Brown had two solid seasons with the Quakers.
During his sophomore year, Brown led the Ivy League in scoring during conference play, averaging 19.3 points per game on 49.5% shooting.
Brown scored 42 points in a game against Columbia, a team that won the 2024-2025 Ivy League Championship.
Davidson’s basketball team has drawn attention recently because NBA legend and alumnus Stephen Curry, recently took on a role as assistant general manager for the Wildcats- no doubt a selling feature for Brown, who entered the transfer portal in March.
Brown is the Aces’ all-time leader in three-pointers made (245) and ranked fifth in total points scored. He earned All-Central League honors multiple times and was a two-time All-Main Line and All-State selection. He also helped lead Lower Merion to consistent postseason success, including deep runs in the PIAA state tournament and back-to-back District championships (2021, 2022).
