March Release For Movie Shot In Upper Darby, Starring Jeremy Piven
According to IFCfilms.com, the movie “Coming Home,” (Formerly named “Crabs in a Bucket’) which they expect to be released this coming March 19, stars Jeremy Piven. He plays the part of Mick, who “returns home to his offbeat blue collar Irish neighborhood in the shadows of Philadelphia for a funeral and is obligated to stay to ensure his parents’ ailing family business gets back on course. Amidst all of this, he grows closer to his childhood crush (Taryn Manning) who is also back in town, while enduring the constant ridicule from his old hometown crew. As Mick begins to reconnect with the neighborhood he grew up in, he finds himself at a crossroads when forced to either raze or resurrect the family bar.”
The story is set in the ficticious Delco town of Darby Heights, which as Greg Lingo explains, “is somewhat related to Upper Darby.”
Lingo is the co-writer and exectutive producer of “Coming Home.” He graduated from Upper Darby High School (Class of 1990), currently lives in Wayne and like his character Mick, is also a successful real estate developer.
The movie is directed by Paulo Pilladi, who grew up in Overbrook. The all-star cast also includes Bruce Dern and Cathy Moriarity, as well as former Upper Darby residents, Jamie Kennedy and Cherie Oteri.
In December of 2019, the Inquirer’s Maria Panaritis, described a conversation she had with Lingo at Cawley’s Irish Pub, a Delaware County Landmark. Pararitis also graduated from Upper Darby High School (two years before Lingo). She wrote “There’s something about Upper Darby. It gets under your skin. It assaults you by refusing to coddle you —then it stays with you for life.”

Love this! I’m a Delco escapee and have always noted it’s harsh culture. Think the original title was accurate. Can’t wait to see it.
