Scanlon’s Would-Be GOP Opponent Bags Delco Firemen’s Endorsement

Joe Billie Endorsed By Firemen

According to his website, Joe Billie “is a past chief of the [Folcroft] fire company. He has spent over 30 years as a volunteer firefighter.”

From the website of the Delaware County Firemen’ Association – “The Delaware County Fireman’s Association is comprised of members of the 73 Volunteer Fire Companies, 1 Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 1 Paid Fire Department, 6 Industrial Brigades and 3 Paid Advanced Life Support Units in Delaware County.”

Joe Billie Agenda

A keyword search for “Trump” on Billie’s website doesn’t show anything, but it’s clear from his Instagram account that he is a supporter of the President.

Dasha Pruett for Congress

In August of 2019, after talking with her at a Trump Campaign event in King of Prussa,  the Finanical Times (FT) described Dasha Pruett as “an administrative assistant at MassMutual, the insurance company, who helps run a pro-Trump Facebook group that is only visible to group members and those invited to join.”

Pruett told FT, “that the president would be re-elected thanks to a ‘huge silent majority’.”

MCDC Endrosement Rule

Last week Pruett was a guest on the show of Conservative talk radio host, Dom Giordano. Pruett discussed her background as an immigrant from Moscow and offered her views on “the shift to socialism in the United States.”

Dasha Pruett at Trump Event

Yesterday on Facebook, Truett wrote,

“Do you want to see President Trump re-elected this year?
Do you live in Delco, MontCo or S. Philly (5th district)?

Then we need your help! Wednesday night at 7:00 come to Chatham Park elementary school in Havertown! We need your petition signatures!

You also have a chance to sign to get Dasha Y Pruett on the ballot!

First 200 people to come get a free Trump 2020 lawn sign!”

Family Learning To Luge

Want to Try Luge? From Lower Merion, It Starts With a Drive to Lake Placid

I was watching the Luge on NBC over the weekend. I thought it was boring, especially when juxtaposed against the more dramatic events, like curling.  The color commentator kept explaining how each “slider” was doing something slightly better or worse than the others, but to my untrained eye, they all looked the same: feet first, […]

These Garments Have Been Politically Maligned

Most non-Arabs who wear the keffiyeh do not intend it to be Anti-Semitic in any way. They wear it as an expression of sympathy for Palestinian civilians, support for human rights, concern about war, or identification with a broader cause of national identity and self-determination. In their minds, it is directed toward Palestinians, not against […]

What Does My Fountain Pen Have In Common With The Former Lord & Taylor In Bala Cynwyd?

Both come out of the work of Raymond Loewy and his design firm. Raymond Loewy (1893–1986) helped define what modern America looked like in the mid-20th century. Through his design firm, he worked across an unusually wide range of industries—transportation, consumer products, branding, and architecture—often simultaneously. No one in history is more closely associated with […]

January 16-18: The Philly Pen Show — A Delightfully Analog Experience

f you’re looking for a break from screens, alerts, and endless scrolling, the Philly Pen Show might be the cure—at least temporarily. It’s an unapologetically analog event: pens, paper, ink, and the people who still care deeply about them. Whether you’re a serious collector, someone who misses the feel of writing by hand, or just […]
